Talking about this grab bag of strangeness was Mark Bisone’s suggestion, but as much as I’d love to put all the blame on him for endangering our reputation as sober, milquetoast minds as frightened of stepping beyond the bounds of respectability as we are of stepping outside the light and encountering the things that go bump in the night … honestly he didn’t have to try too hard to persuade us. I’ve had a long-standing fascination with the subject (I once got suspended because I kept skipping class to read the leatherbound A-Z encyclopedia of the occult in the school library), and the same is certainly true of Harrison Koehli and L.P. Koch , whose excellent MindMatters podcast has delved deep into chapel perilous on many an occasion (for example, their last episode). Daniel D isn’t quite sure what to think, although he’s had some experiences that have made him think, while Grant Smith and Doctor Hammer (who finally emerged from his cave, covered in the white bone dust of his enemies, to complete the Seven) provide the voice of reason.

As it turned out, we spent a lot of time talking about etymology, epistemology, the historical development of the sciences, and duck trees.

Wait, what the hell are duck trees?
