"It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call, The Twilight Zone." 👻💀🎃👻

The question is, will it work? If not, I will try reverse psychology next...

Can't wait! 😂

But wait... 'Tis high time to get reasonably wary: why would you disclose your filthy plot?! 🤪→🤨→😟→😱 I don't like the smell of head fake in the evening tranquillity.

That's exactly what he wants you to think.

Perhaps it is reverse-reverse psychology? (The plot thickens...)

Since you accidentally dropped this bomb, I'll accidentally drop this one, courtesy of Luke 7: 32-35

"Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

'‘We played the pipe for you,

    and you did not dance;

we sang a dirge,

    and you did not cry.’

"For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”

Makes me think we should really consider doing some drunkCasts, as discussed.

But can jet-fuel melt steel beams?

Expand full comment

No.

Propane can melt steel bars...

I didn't see anyone with cutting torches.

Expand full comment

Yea, but in a confine space, like a gas forge or foundry, you can melt steel (or at least get it soft enough that it easily bends under its own weight.) You can do it with wood if you have enough O2 flow, but propane does it easily. Of course I don't generally toss all the propane in at once so who knows *shrug*

Honestly, I'm not a metallurgist or a structural engineer, so I have no idea about the specifics. There's no doubt it would soften the steel. I do know there's an organization, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, who seem pretty convinced that burning jet fuel couldn't bring down 3 towers so cleanly.

Expand full comment

Yea, it's tricky. I would like to see someone actually try a rough replication of the situation. I know that a bunch of concrete around a good amount of fuel and a solid air supply gets steel plenty hot, and can even melt it (which is far more heat than needed.) Whether or not you can get that in a building like that, and how much you need to weaken mild steel girders to get them to fail in that situation, I have no idea. Some billionaire ought to give that a go in a nice public demonstration.
